Terence Ntsako Maluleke

Outstanding and poignant works from South African artist Terence Ntsako Maluleke whose work draws deeply from the Johannesburg township community in which he was raised, transforming personal experience into a broader examination of contemporary Black life. Working primarily through figurative painting, Maluleke creates stylized portraits and still-lifes that balance observation with expressive interpretation. Rather than focusing on the identity of a single sitter, his figures speak to a broader and more complex sense of collective identity.
