Opening November 8th, 2025
Opening on Saturday, November 8th at Maxwell Alexander Gallery in Pasadena, California is the stunning solo exhibition of artist Joshua LaRock, "New Works."
Texas native Joshua LaRock is an internationally acclaimed figurative painter whose work bridges the elegance of classical European art with the rugged spirit of the American West. After years of study and travel abroad, LaRock returned home to Texas to be near family, where a chance journey through the Southwest reignited his creative passion. The result was his first Western series—paintings that fuse the emotional depth of the old masters with the grit and grandeur of Western landscapes.
Trained in the classical tradition and inspired by artists like Bouguereau, LaRock’s work captures timeless beauty through a modern lens. His portraits and figures radiate sensitivity and presence, revealing both technical mastery and a profound emotional connection to his subjects.
An Art Renewal Center Living Master, LaRock has exhibited across the U.S., Europe, and China, earning recognition for his ability to merge precision with soul. Today, he lives and works in Austin, Texas, continuing to refine a body of work that feels at once classical, contemporary, and unmistakably American.
