On view through May 31st, 2026, at Arch Enemy Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is artist Vasilisa Romanenko's solo exhibition, "Flora & Flight."

In "Flora & Flight," her fifth solo exhibition with Arch Enemy Arts, Connecticut-based artist Vasilisa Romanenko continues the evolution of her richly decorative botanical paintings. Moving further away from the stark black backgrounds of her earlier work, Romanenko embraces softer palettes filled with luminous corals, pinks, yellows, and oranges inspired by her own garden. Birds, flowers, and foliage unfold across the canvas with remarkable vitality, blending fine art, patternwork, and botanical illustration into compositions alive with rhythm and movement. Rooted in observations of nature and the small ecosystems surrounding her home, the series reflects both the joy of spring and a quiet awareness of humanity’s relationship to the natural world.
