We are absolutely delighted to name artist Lorena Frías as our Featured Member of the Week!

Frías (b. 1996) is a Mexican artist and architect based in Mexico. She earned her degree in Architecture from Tecnológico de Monterrey and is primarily self-taught as a painter. Her artistic education has been further developed through workshops in classical drawing and painting, including studies with the Florence Academy of Art and artist Amaya Gurpide.

Working primarily in oil, pencil, and charcoal, Frías creates gorgeous figurative works that place contemporary subjects and scenes within a visual language informed by the traditions of classical representations. Her paintings are distinguished by their careful observation, technical precision, personal proximity, and sensitivity to the human figure, creating a compelling dialogue between contemporary life and the enduring aesthetic principles of classical art.
