Opening on May 16th, 2026 at Stanek Gallery in Miami is artist Francis DiFronzo's astonishing solo exhibition, The Calling.

In The Calling, DiFronzo presents a deeply introspective body of work centered on memory, intuition, and the quiet forces that shape a life. Drawing from personal experiences and fleeting moments of recognition, his paintings transform ordinary American landscapes into psychologically charged spaces filled with atmosphere and emotional resonance. Roadside structures, railcars, graffiti, and modest architecture become symbols of human presence and the universal desire to leave a trace behind.

Working with gouache, acrylic, and oil, DiFronzo creates layered surfaces rich with subtle light and cinematic tension. Natural and artificial illumination collide within his scenes, evoking a suspended stillness reminiscent of David Lynch’s dreamlike worlds. Built entirely from memory and accumulated impressions, the paintings feel both familiar and surreal, balancing nostalgia with ambiguity.

Created specifically for his first solo exhibition in Miami, The Calling marks the beginning of an ongoing series exploring intuition, place, and the elusive meanings hidden within everyday life.
