On view until May 2nd, 2026.

Currently on view at GRIMM in New York is artist Eric White's oustanding solo exhibition, "Vignettes & Mutations."
Vignettes & Mutations presents a series of intimate works that revisit and transform details from over two decades of the artist’s practice, spanning from 2003 to 2024. Rather than a traditional retrospective, the exhibition isolates fragments from earlier paintings and reimagines them as independent compositions, freed from their original contexts.
Working within a defined structure, the artist reengages past ideas, allowing them to evolve and resonate in new ways. Dense rendering, recurring typography, and references to film, music, and pop culture create a visual network that connects each piece.
Exploring themes of perception, memory, and constructed reality, the exhibition collapses time, bringing past and present into dialogue. These reworked fragments become new, charged images—demonstrating a practice driven not by repetition, but by continuous transformation and reinvention.
