Currently on view until April 26th, 2026 at Arch Enemy Arts in Philadelphia is artist Casey Weldon's must see solo exhibition, "Waterworks."

Weldon’s work is immediately disarming. His style of polished realism, glowing neon-infused softness, steep angled shadows, and absurd combinations create images that are surreal, striking, and magnetic. And this show—his first solo feature with the gallery—is no exception. On the surface, WATERWORKS is a show about tears. But Weldon presents a confrontational type of sadness filled with complexity. Themes of anger, madness, and isolation well up under the surface in work that leans more psychological horror than tragic melodrama. It's a show for the times, and we are blown away by each and every piece.

 “I had recently done a few paintings that all involved some kind of weeping, so I thought it would be interesting to do a series of paintings based around the tear drop. When I was very young, an older cousin who was babysitting my brother and I told us that when you cry, your eyeballs are slowly melting into teardrops, so he told us, don’t cry. I was much older than I should have been when I realized that is not scientifically accurate.” - Casey Weldon

 Casey Weldon (b. 1979) is currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born in Southern California, he graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and has also lived and worked in Seattle, WA and Brooklyn, NY. A key artist in contemporary pop surrealism, Weldon has exhibited his work across the country and around the globe, with prominent features in Hi-Fructose, Beautiful Bizarre, and Juxtapoz Magazine. Weldon began showing with Arch Enemy Arts in 2018, and his work has appeared in eight group shows with the gallery to-date. WATERWORKS is his first solo exhibition with the gallery.
