Camille Walala x Justkids

Internationally acclaimed artist Camille Walala has brought her vibrant visual language to Downtown Bentonville, Arkansas with The Walala Lounge, a permanent public installation transforming everyday urban furniture into immersive works of art. Comprising ten sculptural steel benches and ten planters, the project reimagines the streetscape as a playful, people-centered environment. Originally inspired by a temporary installation in London, this Bentonville version features an entirely new design created specifically for the city.

Known worldwide for her bold use of color and geometry, Walala explores how design can shape emotion, encourage connection, and activate public space. Curated by Justkids for OZ Art NWA, the installation turns functional seating into striking sculptural forms through saturated colors, rhythmic patterns, and dynamic silhouettes. Each steel piece—crafted for durability and outdoor use—features unique combinations of cuboids, cylinders, and arches, while remaining visually unified through Walala’s signature palette.

Distributed throughout the Market District along Town Branch, The Walala Lounge invites people to sit, gather, and experience the city in a new way—proving that public infrastructure can be joyful, inclusive, and artful.
