On view November 2025.
Currently on view at Moosey in Norwich, United Kingdom, is artist Anne Moses's solo exhibition "Still Closer…"
Moses is a British artist who has spent decades refining her powerful, intimate approach to painting the human face and form. Since earning her B.A. in Fine Art in 1975, she has worked continuously, driven by a fascination with emotional expression and the subtle sensuality revealed through close, detailed observation. For many years, she balanced her studio practice with teaching Art & Design, running an Access to Higher Education program that helped disadvantaged adults enter universities across the UK.
After long periods of working in relative isolation, Moses eventually took the bold step of pursuing the gallery world—often literally carrying large canvases by train across the UK and Europe to share her work with galleries and collectors. Her persistence has paid off: she has exhibited nationally and internationally, and her paintings now reside in private collections around the globe.
Her achievements include winning the Women in Art Prize (2024) and being named a finalist for the UK New Artist Award in association with Saatchi (2023). Her career continues to reflect both dedication to craft and a lifelong commitment to revealing the depth of human emotion through paint.
