Erlend Tait is a Scottish artist whose richly imaginative paintings and drawings combine portraiture, symbolism, and intricate pattern into captivating visual narratives. A graduate of Gray’s School of Art, Tait initially worked as a stained glass stainer and restorer in Edinburgh, mastering traditional techniques before returning to the Black Isle to focus on his personal artistic practice. His works often feature enigmatic figures that seem suspended between folklore, memory, and invention, inviting viewers into worlds that are both familiar and mysterious. Internationally exhibited and widely collected, Tait has established a distinctive voice within contemporary Scottish art and was elected a Professional Member of the Society of Scottish Artists in 2020.
